Dr. S.S. Kulkarni passes away
Dr. S.S. Kulkarni, former Professor and Head, Department of English, Goa University passed away recently at the age of 85.  He was one of the teachers who came down from Mumbai to teach at the Centre of Post Graduate Instruction & Research, University of Bombay in the 70’s situated at Susheela Building, Panjim.  Some of his students are teachers at Goa University and many local colleges. He was also my professor, friend and guide for many years and maintained a close relationship with my family.
A scholar and follower of Sri Aurobindo, he was the founder secretary of Sri Aurobindo Centre above the old Central Library in Panjim. After retirement, he lived for some time at the Sri Aurobindo Ashram in Puducherry. Hailing from Dharwad, Karnataka, he made Goa his home and settled here with his family.  He will be dearly missed by his colleagues and students.
