In the 13th century, Thomas Aquinas argued for the importance of a passionate search for a relationship and shaped it into a Christian prayer: ‘Grant me, O Lord my God, a mind to know you, a heart to seek you, wisdom to find you …’ Now, in online forums, rationalist ‘singularitarians’ debate what such a being would want and how it would go about getting it, sometimes driving themselves into a state of existential distress at the answers they find.

Morton’s terminology is “slowly infecting all the humanities”, says his friend and fellow thinker Graham Harman. Though many academics have a reputation for writing exclusively for their colleagues down the hall, Morton’s peculiar conceptual vocabulary – “dark ecology”, “the strange stranger”, “the mesh” – has been picked up by writers in a cornucopia of fields, from literature and epistemology to legal theory and religion. Last year, he was included in a much-discussed list of the 50 most influential living philosophers. His ideas have also percolated into traditional media outlets such as Newsweek, the New Yorker and the New York Times.
Part of what makes Morton popular are his attacks on settled ways of thinking. His most frequently cited book, Ecology Without Nature, says we need to scrap the whole concept of “nature”. He argues that a distinctive feature of our world is the presence of ginormous things he calls “hyperobjects” – such as global warming or the internet – that we tend to think of as abstract ideas because we can’t get our heads around them, but that are nevertheless as real as hammers. He believes all beings are interdependent, and speculates that everything in the universe has a kind of consciousness, from algae and boulders to knives and forks.
He asserts that human beings are cyborgs of a kind, since we are made up of all sorts of non-human components; he likes to point out that the very stuff that supposedly makes us us – our DNA – contains a significant amount of genetic material from viruses. He says that we’re already ruled by a primitive artificial intelligence: industrial capitalism. At the same time, he believes that there are some “weird experiential chemicals” in consumerism that will help humanity prevent a full-blown ecological crisis.

Thanks. As you know, there is a lot of controversy in derivation of Born rule in MWI. Some say that it is circular. They are basically assuming it and then proving it! Same arguments hold good about Gleason’s results. Anyway, I would like to understand your results somewhat more.
For the time being let us leave ontology to philosophers.
Quantum mechanics “as is” works beautifully as far as explaining experimental data is concerned. So let us also forget about extensions. In that case do your results support Bohm/Sutherland’s interpretation? I do not want to criticize this model/interpretation since I have not studied it. But I am doubtful and the consensus has gone against it.

Today, I read some pages from your book via Google Books and found it quite interesting. The fact that you have been able to formulate such a framework independent of existing theories is certainly impressive. Resonance with Chomsky's thesis seemed fascinating to me.

Thanks, Jack. DNA is technically a quasicrystal. Once you understand how to manipulate and program the code/language, you can do many things within the rules of the code. Our descendants and even many of us in this lifetime will enter into an unprecedented era of real time evolution that is instant. No more survival of the species, mutation and millions of years for radical change. Genetically changed levels of brain function, consciousness and physical function. For those here who suspect that psi phenomena, such as ESP, are possible, those abilities too will be exponentially potentiated in our near term future.

What is truly important about Sri Aurobindo and the Mother isn’t really any ashram or future township, however great those might be. If those are to any extent successful, it is thanks to the decisive evolutive victories their founders had won for the earth, which are still mostly unknown and unspoken of. Their books by themselves are extremely helpful, but they aren’t the most important things either. They could as well not have written a single line about anything, nor spoken a word to anyone about the evolutive changes that were taking place in them, and still, their true contribution to the earth’s evolution would have happened just the same.
