Hindu identity is adulterated

"Modi’s narrative of India has broken through the enclosures of elitism. He is seen as a sort of disrupter, an outsider who has challenged a power caucus that largely comprised rootless leaders & advisors" #ModiFor2019

Finally Church seems to have decided that converting billion Hindus will take ages --So best is--break their traditions/festivals and defile temples -make it picnic spots--with willing courts-that will be the Solution:)) RT

Alongside that awe though that non-Hindus/Vedics feel is something disingenuous as well that’s happening which Hindus need to understand and speak up about: Hindu/Vedic concepts, tenets, ideals are being stolen, apppropriated, while Hindus are still being ridiculed, ignored, etc.

Funny! Like Nirodbaran, you can attempt a new fiction around Sri Aurobindo using all emoticons. Your flair for spoiling is superb!

The rise of the inspirational talk industry is aligned with our decay into the takeaway culture. People deduce many meanings from motivational talks, but what every guru or expert is actually saying is: “Why can’t you be like me? Why can’t you be like me? https://t.co/3Wd9NY16EH

Gustave Le Bon(1841 – 1931) was a French polymath whose areas of interest included anthropology, psychology, medicine, invention & physics. Without taking sides, I've yet to hear a convincing explanation from those who claim this is tradition, when pre-1972 or so, women were allowed into the temple. How far do you go in defining tradition? This tradition seems to be a recent provenance.

Quoting mythology to justify something in the temporal world opens up the doors to so much mischief that I am astounded it is being attempted by such erudite people.  You may have a valid point, but think of all the larger implications of what you are doing.
The revered scriptures do not lack for mythology to justify anything & every thing we now consider unacceptable. By opening these doors you are doing precisely what the mullas did in Pakistan to reduce its constitution to scrap of paper, if that.
Smart points in a debate are often not the wise ones.  If you want an exemption at least seek it quietly in a court, not by backing lumpen & hoodlums on the streets.  Do you realize what you are validating?

The great Nirad Chaudhary has pilloried the Hindus as abominably as any of the Left Liberals. Yet, he is greatly appreciated by the RW thought leaders. @sarkar_swati @dikgaj and I examine why it is so. https://t.co/T2thdBD3Av

#_P_G_ | @PrafullGoradia : Th Hindu ethos considers th individual as supremely important. Society & the state exist for the individual ... Self actualisation (self improvement or fulfilment), rather than social performance, is the central theme of Hinduism
https://t.co/3WKQSrV7M6 https://t.co/yVSKuY9F9L

A Hindu is one who accepts as the primary aim of life the discovery of the Divine in himself &, as a consequence of that discovery, to realize the Divine in the universe. Temples, mantras, shastras, rituals, festivals, traditions etc are all imp in their own place but secondary.
https://twitter.com/viryavaan/status/1061307886494760960?s=19
Even the Gita, in verse 18:45, affirms that the facilitation of this quest for the discovery of inner divinity lay at the core of the Hindu social order. "Sve sve karmany abhiratah samsiddhim labhate narah" (18:45) Happily pursuing each his own vocation all men attain the Divine. https://t.co/MYLGfgPkre

5th Nov- The Gita stands somewhere in between the Vedic Rishis’ robust attitude to life and the recoil from it which Buddhism, Jainism, & Advaita Vedanta systematized, & which, in Sri Aurobindo’s view, was to be responsible for much of India’s degeneration.https://t.co/9m52AySRaA

The icons of an organization tell us of the values it cherishes. We show that the values of  3 icons of BJP-RSS, Rajagopalachari, Vallabhbhai Patel and Nirad Chaudhuri are identical to that of the Urban Naxals’. Saturday evening read:  https://t.co/OqNuZ2GPyb

Modern India is inextricably indebted to the Judeo-Christian/European culture and hence identifying oneself as Hindu is adulterated. The Mother & Sri Aurobindo have further cemented it for the future. Building on those shared values is as important as inviting foreign investment.

Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803 – 1882) was an American essayist, philosopher, and poet who led the Transcendentalist movement of the mid-19th century. Transcendentalism was strongly influenced by Hindu texts on philosophy, especially the Upanishads. #quotes https://t.co/Sba9vCVI0h

Sri Aurobindo once went to Pondicherry Railway Station to see Sarojini off. Amrita(?) remarked how full of love he is to which Sri Aurobindo replied with same love he can plunge a knife onto the disciple. (From memory; unable to locate reference. Not to confuse as Sarojini Naidu)

Sri Aurobindo wrote profusely to produce a firm and robust intellectual anchorage which is extremely useful in countering diverse speculative thought emanating from the West. Similarly because of him one needn't stagnate at the level of Vivekananda, Gandhi, Savarkar, or Ambedkar.

The substance of an intellectual work is in all of it. And the best thing to do is to simply enjoy all of it instead of stringing it upside down and torturing it by asking the pettiest question an intelligent life can ask—what is the takeaway? My column. https://t.co/dPCJh80FvH

Kautilya & Plato were very nearly contemporaneous.  The Republic & the Arthashastra are just as contemporaneous as are their respective authors.  Both describe similar paterfamilias based societies that has coalesced from kula/tribal mode to city states  b/c of the need 2 trade.

We come into this world hardwired for a tribal existence where our own - family, kula, tribe, religion, come before all else.  It is a good evolutionary trait that helped us survive in the past.  But it evolves more slowly than our culture does. https://t.co/x4dXhIV4ge
Over the 5000 years of recorded history, our DNA hasn’t changed much.  If we have evolved at all over last 5000 years, it is in terms of culture not DNA.  And culture is passed on from generation to generation by acculturation & education, not DNA.
Family acculturation can never be secular.  It has to be a family first experience.  Just as you don’t operate a capitalistic system of rewards & punishment at home.  U privilege equal treatment regardless of merit.  So family values prevail over all else as they should.
The idea of a secular state is non-intuitive.  If not taught properly in schools, you can only learn it thru personal experience.  Which is why you will always regress to something less than a secular state if you neglect education.  We have no proper education 4 half our people.

The idea of technology-out-of-control is used to obscure the fact that liberalism/capitalism has no standards. Technological development and liberalism/capitalism are falsely conflated so that you’ll think ‘intervening’ to stop bad uses of tech will undermine tech progress.
https://twitter.com/mr_scientism/status/1061305582420926467?s=19
You don’t need ‘freedom’ (liberalism’s name for its lack of standards and morals) to have tech progress. You can ban/control all the bad applications and still have the good applications. In fact, you’d greatly accelerate tech progress if you did this.
