One absolute essential reading in revolutionary literature is Bandi Jivan by goated rev leader Sachin Sanyal.
To find again creator of most refined rev ideological works like Sri Aurobindo or a daredevil like Chandrashekar Azad was such a rare task u only know when u read him
Sanyal's descriptions of relentless pursuit to get atleast few handful true revolutionaries and how painfully and stoically he worked in that regard is chilling experience so is to see how difficult whole ambiance of indian set-up was for agni yug. @Zoomerjeet @TradDeshastha

True, it begins from 1870s but the root lies in 1840s when Dharmasabha of Radhakanta Deb and Brahmo Samaj of Debendranath Tagore allied against Christian missionaries and opened up Hindu Hitarthi Vidyalaya in 1846.
Read Indranath Bandyopadhyay and Jogendra Chandra Bose.
The Adi Brahmo Samaj led by Debendranath Tagore & Aurobindo's maternal grandfather Rajnarayan Bose indeed but the faction led by Keshav Chandra Sen wasn't.
The split in Brahmo Samaj occured because of this reason only.
According to Keshav, Brahmo's weren't Hindus and
No. By 1886 Raj Narayan Bose (Aurobindo's maternal grandfather) had created the idea of "Hindu nation" which would not have any place for Muslims. Tbh this idea originates from Nabagopal Mitra.
This pre-dates Chandranath Basu's book "Hindutva" by 6 years.

A trustee or govt appointed administrator, even if they are of pure heart and intent like @JayantiRavi should not give away the property of Auroville. The property - Annapurna farm was bought with donations by devotees of the Mother and Sri Aurobindo and well-wishers of Auroville for explicit purpose of Auroville. It wasn't given by govt for it to be given away to IITs. If those farms were used (or under utilised) by some coterie within Auroville, I hope @JayantiRavi ji fixes its usage and not give it away. At best it can be exchanged for adjacent land of equal value and *not*given away. That is not justifiable in my humble opinion.
One can think of it as temple property. The trustees or the govt appointees cannot give it away for any reason. Similarly their job here is to ensure that it is utilised properly for Auroville and not give it away to IITs.
