Exposure to social media has destroyed my faith in history. Not just the ancient one, but also the "modern" one. If we see so many lies and distortions when real time fact-checking is easy and semi automated, how many lies would have been peddled when the narrative of the powers that be couldn't be challenged? Wouldn't be surprised if history is "his story" and a good chunk of historians are "distorians"
