Not "believing", which implies the old religious mode of accepting on faith, but rather "understanding".
Contradictions in society have also greatly increased in the West in the last one or two decades, hence the current "culture war".

I agree, most politicians who quote #SriAurobindo have a very partial understanding of His vision, even the article you quoted is inaccurate at many places..& when it comes to implementing His ideas, the less said the better..

Sri Aurobindo's thoughts on equality is seldom discussed. Coming from BJP spox it is encouraging, esp. considering their majoritarian stand. Hope the authors, who represent a weak minority body of dalits inside BJP, will mobilize a larger consensus in the party on equality.

Yes and Sri Aurobindo welcomed the affirmative policy of the Constituent Assembly in his Independence Day message: "... the wisely drastic policy of the Constituent Assembly has made it probable that the problem of the depressed classes will be solved without schism or fissure."
Wonder why there isn’t wider use of Sri Aurobindo’s quotes. The saint’s writings are so powerful, so soulful, so soul-elevating !!
No master has so clearly articulated/glossed on the chaturvarnyam which sri krsna perfunctorily touched in the gita. so expansive and cohesive, Divine as knowledge in man, as courage as, harmony as service what a blessing of harmony in his explanations.

Many get confused with Aurovile, thinking that's the place of Sri Aurobindo.....also Aurovile doesn't direct visitors to actual #SriAurobindo Ashram in Pondicherry city.
Thereby missing out on the real spiritual sadhana & samadhi place of Sri Aurobindo & Mother!

Every year on the 5th, Dec The Mother's International School has a morning assembly around the Shrine of Sri Aurobindo for meditation and special assembly of prayers and recitations. Some pictures of the 2022 assembly
We are glad to inform you that the renovated and enlarged Sri Smriti which exhibits lots of items used by the mother or given by the mother was re-inaugurated on 5th of December at 11 AM.
It will remain open from 10 AM to 12 Noon daily except on Mondays.

These 10-15 yrs have proved to be very fateful - fatal - for Hindus... starting with imprisonment of Lokmanya in Mandalay, then jailing / exile of Lalaji n Aurobindo Ghose / Bhai Parmanand / Savarkar - that left field open for MKG types... we are still paying for that!

Your assessment is not in consonance with Sri Aurobindo's thought as he never denounced Gandhi or Nehru. It would be unwise to criticise the gains of post-independence India.

Different kings ruled different regions and all ills of monarchy was in full play. Glossing over this stark reality won't supply any clear picture. Social harmony was not a given and discrimination was widespread.
