Spirituality is stillborn since Grace is unpredictable

Collated by Tusar Nath Mohapatra (b. 1956) @NathTusar, the Founder of Savitri Era Learning Forum (SELF - 2005), Savitri Era Religion (2006), and Savitri Era Party (2007)

Sri Aurobindo was definitely the most original Indian thinker of the past few centuries.
For those saying Savarkar or Raja Ram Mohan Roy, they must not understand what original thinker means.
The former took 19th century european ideas of nationalism & applied them to India while the latter explicitly saw himself as as "Martin Luther of Hinduism"
Replying to
Make it globally. He stands head and shoulders above the rest and his body of work is as wide as it is deep. It's tragic that he isn't talked about more often.
Replying to
When you say most original, you negates others and disservice to Aurobindo.
Bengal school of Hindutva stresses on practice of dharma on daily life, studying Hindu history, philosophy & literature to develop 'Hindu POV', Hindu tribalism on social level. Many contributed. But if you ask me who was the pioneer then I'd say that it's Rajnarayan Bose.
Replying to
It was couple of NRI Bongs who 1st exposed Teresa.
As far as Ram Mohun roy, well to be honest , Brahmo Samaj gave Bengal some of its fiercest Nationalists ,thinkers & cultural icons. The list is endless.
Replying to
Bankim chandra, although not as much intuition and insight as aurobindo, but his works was the first hammer agnst the western thoughts superiority complex. His dharmatattva was lucid & insightful explanation of indian philosophy & traditions for english educated bengalis.
Replying to
While Savarkar's nationalism may have inspiration in Giuseppe Mazzini, his idea of the Indian political thought, our strategic interests, potential points of fissure in Indian society and vision for a strong Bharata was definitely original!
Replying to
Savarkar is important because he for the first time articulated it well...the need for political Hinduism...delinked from Hindu praxis. The criticism of his great error of accepting Europe style territorial nationalism (almost an obsession) is correct.
dont think hindutva is delinked from hindu praxis
its a modern day extension of it
David Hare and Hindu college played significant role in shaping Bengal renaissance. Derozio, Michael,Kali Prasanna Sinha, Peary Chand Mitra,Keshab Chandra Sen, Radhanath Sikdar were associated with Hindu college as student or teacher and continued the legacy of Roy and Hare
Today we have been told by the warriors for Hinduism on Twitter that the Brahmo Samaj was "anti Hindu" and "Hinduphobic" - so Ram Mohun Roy, Keshab Chandra Sen, all of the House of Tagore, countless Bengalis of the highest intellect are all "non-Hindu" and "Hinduphobic". Great!
First part is correct. Second part isn't. Neither Tagore nor RamKrishna hd anything to do with cultural nationalism .. they were liberal humanists.. Ramkrishna did Namaz and read Quran! Tagore directly opposed Nationalism. Bengal's liberal intellectual tradition continued
Sri Aurobindo too was a outright Indian nationalist and cultural emphasizer. Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay and Chandranath Basu coined "Hindutva" as an indigenous cultural view against the debasement of India's Dharmik culture at the hands of Western imperialists.
Actually much before Bankim, Aurobindo or Chandranath Basu (who coined "Hindutva") Nabagopal Mitra declared basis of national unity is Hinduism. He founded Hindu mela (to counter Brit racism) which was the pioneer institution behind the genesis of Hindu nationalism. A Bhadralok.
The term "Hindutva" first appeared in the novel Anandamath by Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay in mid 1860's. Hindutva, as a political idea, was later used in late 1890s by Chandranath Basu and Bal Gangadhar Tilak.
Wonderful appointments by the Government of India. The Governor of Tamilnadu is now the Chairman of #Auroville and the Governing Board members also include Lt Governor of Puducherry and ex officio officers of Ministry of Education @PMOIndia
His entire family is an inspiration. His elder brother Panchanan Mohanty was a learned Aurobindo Devotee and sister in law was the famous Odia poet Bidyut Prava Debi is well known in Odisha. Sachidananda Mohanty, English reader at central university of Hyderabad is his nephew.
Integral Yoga is not achievable through individual effort or tapasya only. With no fixed method of sadhana or rituals, spirituality is stillborn since Grace is unpredictable. What The Mother & Sri Aurobindo ask for is "faith, sincerity, and surrender" and it amounts to religion.
Replying to
Comparison with past systems of practice and philosophical formulations poses hindrance for understanding Sri Aurobindo's new breakthrough. Evolutionary intervention of Supramental consciousness is something which has never been conceived in the past. So, accepting in toto needed.
Nothing happens before its time and I have often cautioned against offering false assurances on the basis of the words of The Mother & Sri Aurobindo or their direct disciples. Writings are writings but believing in Sri Aurobindo is much more important for the future of humanity.
Replying to
Many accuse Sri Aurobindo of giving his stamp of approval to Hegel's theory of history. Yet, emergence and evolution have a far more critical role and hence time has a significant part to play. It's futile, therefore, to set any term. All life is Yoga is good to avoid frustration

For Keshab Chandra Sen, the dilemma was sad and simple. His life was an unending
search for identity, though he would not agree with such an assessment. He remains, as the
