Nationalism is a strong brew: a heady one that helps the human ego behave as if it is not because it speaks for a larger self. This repackages conceit as pride, habit as culture and vanity as patriotism. Military swagger is a logical extension. Brutal violence becomes a vain art
Maybe the time is fine for such blanket admonition but there are brighter dimensions and scope for sublimation. It's man who has the potential to rise to the occasion when need arises instead of succumbing to mean instincts. Such instances, of course, are rare and normative stuff

Yes, I am amazed that people seem to think they can see politics from a Supermind, or even Overmind, level. Below that, nothing can really be known of the complexities and how they will inter-manifest. It's guess-work, though some are more prescient than others.
