Indra is the mind full of light, the prakasha of Atman, the buddhi at its summit. I hesitate to call it enlightened mind because the word enlightenment has been so abused by some modern spiritual marketers. Sri Aurobindo calls it the Luminous Mind, or Divine Mind.

Not "believing", which implies the old religious mode of accepting on faith, but rather "understanding". Contradictions in society have also greatly increased in the West in the last one or two decades, hence the current "culture war".
