Both see man as a hero, one who can ascend the highest heights and become immortal by realizing the Truth-Consciousness, ऋत-चित्
One may see Sri Aurobindo as a modern Rishi in the Vedic lineage, as an affirmation of life and human existence in our collective evolution to the Truth and greatest possibility

Trika Śaivism didn't originate in Kashmir, nor was it first expounded by Abhinavagupta. The Trika is an ancient Śaiva turned Kaula tradition spanning multiple geographies... strange thing though is that the angry face/viral vulgarity people did not seem like the majority of protestors to me (on my feed at least) and I was struck actually by the joyous and playful nature of the slogans/posters (mocking for failures / inaction is fine i think).
it was an explosion of creativity, critique, and crassness all in one i suppose. challenge is that each of us might well be seeing different feeds/samples making it hard to get a representative sense.

There was anger not just against the police, not just the government, not just the state - but against Modi himself. The fires of people's anger had reached Big Brother himself.
He was personally singled out for criticism. And not just criticism, but outright ridicule and mockery. People were chanting slogans against him, defacing his posters, and making hilarious and insulting memes about him personally. His carefully constructed decade-old cult of personality was cracking under the pressure.
This is likely one of the main factors that really tipped the balance. You have the right to criticize anyone you want, but criticizing the Supreme Leader is what really takes the cake. And achieves results.

Education cultivates ideas backed by reason and evidence and critical attitude to both. The right-wing govt feeds on post-truth distrust of scientific ideas. It ultimately wins arguments by force. So, it can’t build or sustain a proper education system.

The great Buddhist poet Aśvaghoṣa famously tells the story of the Buddha’s father, the king, who tried to keep his son as an heir rather than a monk by isolating him from all the bad things in the world. Of course the king’s plan doesn’t work: the Buddha-to-be sneaks out and sees an old man, a sick man and a dead man, reminding him that these fates will come to a king as surely as anyone else, and so he renounces the world and becomes a monk. The story shows us that there always remains a gap between what is and what should be: we will always face sad facts like illness and death. That gap is bad, it is always with us, and that is unfortunate; it is just the way things are, whether we like it or not. It provides a need and an impetus for us to improve our minds, to escape the suffering that comes from craving in the face of those sad facts.
A very different take on that gap comes from Jacobin senior editor Alex Caring-Lobel in the Springer Handbook of Mindfulness, which collects over thirty essays objecting to the modern mindfulness movemennt. These essays take particular objection to David Gelles’s claim that “stress emanates from a mismatch between our expectation of how things should be and the way things are”.
