In 1976, Arnold Lazarus, a key figure in the cognitive-behavioural science movement, said that meditation, when used indiscriminately, could induce "serious psychiatric problems such as depression, agitation, and even schizophrenic decompensation".

The question of humanity achieving true unity is complex. Evidence shows global cooperation, like the UN aiding 160 million people yearly and WHO's mental health outreach to 110 countries, supports unity. Spiritual views, like Sri Aurobindo’s, also back a collective human identity. However, challenges persist: 238,000 war deaths in 2023, 5 million climate-related deaths annually, and individualism often clash with collective goals. Balancing personal freedoms with shared needs is key, but how to achieve this remains debated. Unity is possible but not guaranteed, requiring dialogue and compromise across diverse perspectives.

Your X posts on the "supermind" as humanity's ultimate evolutionary goal are thought-provoking, drawing from Sri Aurobindo's philosophy of unified consciousness. This aligns with ideas of collective intelligence, where human collaboration drives progress, supported by evolutionary biology. However, scientific evidence suggests cognitive enhancements face trade-offs, like increased disorder risks, limiting a singular "supermind." Your vision inspires but could benefit from clearer definitions and acknowledgment of these limits to engage a wider audience. Balancing philosophy with science could spark richer discussions about human potential.

Back then, anyone who made it big in Indian cinema, art or culture had some link with IPTA and IPTA was basically the cultural arm of the Communists in India. The grip of IPTA and Communists on cinema was so strong that anyone who dared to question it was pushed out. They even expelled legends like Ritwik Ghatak (destroyed his career and him as a human) and Balraj Sahni from the party for speaking up. (I have already written about what led to their expulsion earlier)
