Volcanoes helped; LDL protective

Jun 30, 2010 - While Wilber has not to my knowledge used the term “intelligent design” ... On the Origin of Species soon after the deaths of Hegel and Schelling, ... Amod Lele said: ....
While I think Hegel was more methodologically sophisticated than Wilber, there is a lot missing from Hegel’s synthesis. Science, especially, has changed a lot, making Hegel’s philosophy of nature difficult to accept; so too, Hegel’s thought has no room for the shining achievement of the 20th century, namely feminism and the liberation of women. And while Hegel at least attempted to include Asian philosophies in his synthesis, in a way that few had before, they were stuck at the earliest and lowest level of his philosophy, making Hegel “strong with respect to time and weak with respect to space”.
All of these vast gaps in Hegel’s thought – science, feminism, Asian philosophy – Wilber has tried hard to give a central place in his thought. His attempted synthesis is the widest one I know of – Wilber gives us some vision of what a unified synthesis now could look like.] Posted at 3:40 PM

We need to inculcate a notion of ego-transcendence or the sublime. I strive to resolve the conflict between reason and transcendence by reading two Indian philosophers, Amartya Sen and Sri Aurobindo, alongside Western philosophers such as John Rawls. Connecting these philosophers to Jhumpa Lahiri's Namesake ( and ...

Bajrangi Bhaijaan (2015), one of the funniest Hindi films I’ve seen, with a brilliant story and catch songs and a totally adorable heroine, though little romance?, writes @RachelMJDwyer, https://t.co/vNnBXz0EyL https://t.co/uJb9JD1M30

At @CommunityLibPro , some of our most loved authors include J.K.Rowling, Agatha Christie, Sudha Murthy, and Subhadra Sengupta. For me, personally, nothing can quite beat the magic and joy of the @jk_rowling world. I read her non-magic, detective novels faithfully as well. (Can you tell that I'm a little obsessed?)

I'm also inordinately fond of @AdichieSpeaks and @kamilashamsie . Both of them write such stunning, heart-wrenching stories about us non-whites. And their prose is breathtaking.
My Bengali self was in love with Leela Majumdar as a child. I would read and re-read all her books and would sleep with "Tong Ling" under my pillow for a long time. She still remains my absolute favourite.

Understand the concept of “by-and-large” and use approximations. Because our educational system is hung up on precision, the art of being good at approximations is insufficiently valued. This impedes conceptual thinking. https://t.co/PFpBOMFdku

I found this book to be of great help, as it presents the subject matter in the context of those living in India and Indian food. I recommend this book for anyone as a preventive step. We are observing life-style related issues in India--diabetics, hypertension--even among younger people. This book will help understanding the food we eat and eating right. It can be a great help for managing our weight as well. Thanks a lot, Dr.Nirav!

Say a 40 year old boss and a 22 year old junior reporting to him, marry after 2 years of dating. In hindsight, can the woman say she was coerced into the relationship?
Power in work places skews sexual dynamics completely. Agreed. But don't infantilize adults and their consent. https://t.co/RfGlwh6zZk

There are numerous marriages/relationships between teachers and students, doctors and nurses. There certainly could be an element of power play in these and some are actually frowned upon. But by painting all these relationships as coerceive consent, you are invalidating choice.
In the end, sexual dynamics are difficult to understand and are messy. Stated consent of adults who are not under the influence and appropriate professional behavior are probably the few constants that everyone cn agree upon and build into their behavior. Don't dilute it further
All this pop-psychology has real consequences for both the men and women though. Hope people realize that.
Sleeping with someone to boost up your self-esteem or to feel secure or to feel more confident does not mean you are a victim! As a consenting adult, you have agency. https://t.co/s8VD1PvIRW

Our guide at Nahargarh, gave details to the gentleman in our group about the King's insane legendary phallic attributes n symbolism of bodies n genitals in the pillar design.

Arey. I'm not prudish. You don't even read. I've shown you same pattern two centuries apart. And the symbolism is for the latter.
You cannot shame me so easily. I pulled up a chair and gawked at The naked David by a Michael Angelo for nearly half an hour in awe struck admiration

East or West nothing should be accepted without thought. And the critique of critical thinking basing on the assumption that the science that coined the term is false therefore critical thinking is bad is not convincing to me
