Even the basest life-form is wonderous

 Collated by Tusar Nath Mohapatra

4 hours ago — As because the aim of Sri Aurobindo's Yoga is to transform mundane life to the status of the Spirit, we can not neglect that, which sustains material life, the ...

The Dehi or Soul Entity that has put on this body like a cloak is this Inner Flame or Luminous Being, the Purusha in the Heart. It is due to the presence of this Truth or Real Person that we are able to experience existence as an individual portion or projection of the Divine. When it realizes itself fully it knows itself as the eternal beloved of the Divine or the eternal child of the Divine Mother.

If we take the Universe as a projection of the Divine we will find that it appears like a sheer contradiction of the Divine, appearing to us primarily as darkness, unconsciousness & even life itself as cruel & pitiless in its insatiable hunger for other life. We start from this utter contradiction of our Divine Truth & it is always there in the very blood & sinew & marrow of humanity. It is out of this dark yet miraculous material that the Divine is sculpting his Truth Form, his Swaroopa which reveals rather than obscures him. This is the play of Prakriti or the lower nature which, even though Divine in essence & origin & purpose, is non-Divine & even anti-Divine in appearance. But She is miraculous nonetheless. Even the basest life-form is wonderous compared to mere unconscious matter for example.

The fact that a sentient creature can emerge out of a cosmos made of dead matter is one of the most remarkable & fascinating of things. The sentience is what forms the basis for comparison.

From the Gauḍīya Vedānta perspective, such integration is only meaningful if it acknowledges that consciousness is not a byproduct of matter but the fundamental substrate of reality. Attempts to unite science and spiritual wisdom must therefore go beyond metaphorical equivalence or mathematical elegance—they must rest upon a sincere acceptance of the limits of empirical method and the higher ontology of the ātmā (soul) and Paramātmā (Supersoul) as described in the Vedānta-sūtras and Śrīmad Bhāgavatam.

As I’ve stated elsewhere: Until one transcends laboratory-bound ego and humbly surrenders to the Guru-paramparā, all speculative models—however sophisticated—are like drawing water from a painted well.

I welcome your efforts and hope they stimulate further genuine dialogue on this profound subject.

Sincerely,

[This leads to the common misunderstanding that Hindutva is a free-for-all religion... Hindutva is grounded in a specific set of beliefs, rituals, customs, and practices that every Hindu is expected to follow, rejecting the notion of an "anything goes" approach.]

In the Mahābhārata, in Karņa’s account of the impending war as a Śrauta-Yajña, Nakula & Sahādeva are defined as the Śamitṛ-s, the ones who “quieten” the sacrificial Paśu before its organs are removed and offered to different deities.

Sahādeva kills Śakuni, who is the incarnation of Dvāparayuga.

When one remembers that Duryodhana (Kaliyuga) is the Yajamāna of the War-Sacrifice and also that the Paśu is slaughtered & sacrificed as ransom for the Yajamāna, to redeem him from the Gods whose portion/offering he becomes, Śakuni’s death at the hands of Sahādeva appears to be the sacrificial redemption of Kaliyuga by offering up the then current Yuga, which was coming to its end.

Looking at any Mahabharata character, any one of them, in a binary black or white/ good or bad/ dharmi or adharmi, simply shows one never understood the epic.
Read! Don't get your knowledge & understanding from Indian TV serials where half the time they do dhum tana na na na na

Mahabharata is not a story of good versus evil like Ramayana.

There are no absolute good or bad guys in it.

It's mixed bag for all of them.

Every perceived good or bad character has a reason for doing everything good or bad he does in the story.

Yes every character has shades in Mahabharata but In the end there is a good side and their is a bad side and it was because of one's choices. And this karna glorification is just pathatic.

Arjun and Karna binary shows, howsoever meritorious you might be, you are a villain if you stand with aDharma.

When dharma declines and irreligion rises, Vishnu incarnates as an avatāra to restore balance. Similarly, the term "Arya" was fitting for Rama’s era, while "Hindutva" is appropriate for the present time. Just as Rama was a divine manifestation of Vishnu, Hindutva is a contemporary expression of Arya or Sanatana Dharma. As a son becomes a father, yet remains the same person, Hindutva is essentially synonymous with Arya or Sanatana Dharma. It is a new, indigenous name—unlike the British-imposed term "Hinduism" which we reject—suited to the current era.

I hope you have read my article, the link to which is provided in the first post of this thread.
