जबकि आई.के.एस. (‘भारतीय ज्ञान’ का मुहावरा भी अंग्रेजी के अनुवाद से!) का डंका बजाने में करोड़ों रूपए और मानव घंटे नियमित नष्ट किये जा रहे है। ताकि एक राजनीतिक दल-संगठन युवाओं को लुभा सके। उस प्रोपेगंडा से किसी और प्राप्ति की परवाह भी नहीं।...
भारतीय परंपरा ‘ऐसी’, और पश्चिम की ‘वैसी’; ‘हम’ ऊँचे और ‘वे’ नीचे; भारत में हर गड़बड़ी का दोष अलाँ-फलाँ देश, या विदेशी एजेंसी, या उन के ‘एजेंट’ जो यहाँ अमुक दलों के लोग हैं। यही आज यहाँ प्रमुख स्वर है जो सोशल मीडिया में प्रमुखता से और अन्यत्र भी भरपूर है।..
नीतियों-व्याख्यानों में सदिच्छाएं-घोषणाएं उसी क्रम में है, जो गाँधी-युग से चल रहा है। राष्ट्रवाद नशा से भारतीय बुद्धि फतवेबाजी में डूब गई। मोटे तौर पर 1910-15 तक भारतीय मनीषियों-कवियों-नेताओं के स्वर में तथ्यपरकता, विवेकशीलता, सार्थक प्रस्तुति, ज्ञानपरक दृष्टिकोण मिलता है।..
तिलक या श्रीअरविन्द के भाषण-लेखन देख लीजिए। वह दृष्टिकोण राष्ट्रवादी आंदोलन के उभार के साथ उलटता चला गया। लफ्फाजी-परदोषारोपण मुख्य टेक बनता गया। गाँधी जी ठसक से कह देना पर्याप्त मानते थे कि ‘हिन्दू-मुस्लिम विरोध अंग्रेजों की देन है’।
धीरे-धीरे वैसे ही फतवे देना हर बात में देना राष्ट्रीय अंदाज बन गया है।आरोप लगा देना और ऊँची हाँक देना संपूर्ण वक्तव्य माना जाता है। फलाँ ‘बिका हुआ’, ‘राष्ट्रद्रोही’, अमुक एजेंसी ने करवाया, या ‘हम आज दुनिया को सिखा रहे’, आदि के लिए प्रमाण परखने की बात ही दिमाग में नहीं आती।
हर बात पर घोषणाएं कर देने वाले ही चिंतक कहे जाते हैं। देश में सब लोग बड़े-छोटे गाँधी हैं। इसीलिए प्रोपेगंडा एक राष्ट्रीय रोग बन चुका है। इस हद तक कि यदि कोई किसी भी दावे के लिए प्रमाण पूछे तो उसी को संदिग्ध समझा जाता है। यह रोगी मानसिकता राष्ट्रवाद की देन है।...
सोशलिज्म, नेशनलिज्म, डेमोक्रेसी, सेक्यूलरिज्म, डेवेलपमेन्ट, एनवायरमेंट, माइनॉरिटी, ह्यूमन राइट्स, चाइल्ड राइट्स, डिप्राइव्ड सेक्शंस, इन्कलूसिवनेस, थर्ड जेंडर, आदि। सब पश्चिमी नकल, एक भी अपना सोचा नहीं। इन्हीं के अनुरूप कानून, निर्देश, कार्यक्रम, दावे, शोध, शिक्षण हो रहे हैं ।

I don't mind India-Pakistan cricket, films, music, cuisine, cross border trips and every single thing that can show both countries the humanity and similarity of the other to reduce strife and move forward and progress for both countries. I think the more the two countries can develop good relations, the more both will prosper. The more they prosper, the more hate and violence will happen - because people don't want to lose good things when they have them.

Arjuna's query was not this exactly. His first query was to understand the real reason why we are here. Second was to understand how to execute the action. He never really looked for alternative. He looks for justifications. Yes. Sri Aurobindo's Essays on Gita give a very good perspective. Even otherwise, if you read Gita (the translation, not vyakhya), you can make it out. Arjun is not running away. He is looking for reasons.

If you are really interested,.. karma is necessary only in this world. having cast off the body the soul goes to the vital (life) worlds and mental worlds (heaven in colloquial and in puranas) not to expiate karma but automatically by affiliation to one life and mind.. In other words this is necessary for the soul to cast off the vital and mind personality and thereafter to prepare for a new birth, which it chooses at time of death.. So u can say good karma gives you a peaceful mind which draws you to higher worlds.. and converse... Karma manifests only in this world.. going to "Heaven", Hell etc is part of journey of soul.. not to exhaust karma.. taken from my understanding of Sri Aurobindo's works. There is no reward or punishment but a automatic stop based on one's nature.. to these worlds.
