While we liberally quote from the Gita, the real, actionable meaning contained within its verses is frequently missed. It is precisely for this reason that we undertake this humble attempt to rediscover and re-present that core teaching. Our approach is to peel away any traditional religious or devotional 'color' and move beyond subjective personal narratives that often dominate Gita commentaries. Instead, we aim to uncover the inherent rationality and objective logic within its verses, presenting a coherent guide for self-mastery and harmonious living.

गीतेचा पुन्हा शोध घेण्याचे कारण – नेहमीच्या पलिकडे Rationale for Rediscovering the Gita - Beyond the Usual हे विचार मुख्यतः श्री औरोबिंद यांच्या गीतेवरील निबंध Essays on the Gita यावर आधारित आहेत. आजच्या वेगवान आधुनिक जगात, आपण अकल्पनीय वैज्ञानिक प्रगती आणि सुखसोयींनी वेढलेले आहोत. तरीही, आपल्याला अनेकदा सततच्या तणावांनी आणि कुठेतरी अपूर्णतेच्या भावनेने ग्रासलेलं दिसतं. आपण माहिती आणि नवनवीन साधनांनी भरून गेलो आहोत, पण खरं समाधान देणारं ज्ञान मात्र अजूनही हाती लागत नाही. या गुंतागुंतीत, भगवद्गीता एका कालातीत दीपस्तंभासारखी चमकते. ती आपल्याला सखोल, वैश्विक सत्ये देते, जी आजच्या आव्हानांवर अगदी चपखल लागू पडतात. जगात वेगवेगळ्या भाषांमध्ये गीतेवर आधीच हजारो अन्वयार्थ लिहिलेले आहेत. मग, या एवढ्या मोठ्या ढिगाऱ्यात आणखी काही लिहिण्याची गरज काय? 

कारण आम्हाला वाटतं की, गीतेची खरी शिकवण अजूनही बहुतेकदा धार्मिक, आध्यात्मिक किंवा भक्तिमय अन्वयार्थांमध्येच कुठेतरी हरवून जाते. आपण गीतेतील श्लोक (ओळी) अगदी सहजपणे वापरतो, पण त्यातील खरा, प्रत्यक्ष आचरणात आणता येण्याजोगा अर्थ मात्र अनेकदा दुर्लक्षित राहतो. नेमक्या याच कारणामुळे, ती खरी शिकवण पुन्हा शोधण्याचा आणि तुमच्यासमोर मांडण्याचा आम्ही हा छोटासा प्रयत्न करत आहोत. आमचा दृष्टिकोन हा आहे की, गीतेला चिकटलेले कोणतेही पारंपारिक धार्मिक किंवा भक्तिमय "रंग" काढून टाकावेत आणि केवळ व्यक्तिनिष्ठ मांडणीच्या आधारावर केलेल्या अन्वयार्थांच्या पलीकडे जावे. त्याऐवजी, गीतेच्या श्लोकांमध्ये असलेला मूळ तर्कसंगतपणा (बुद्धीला पटणारापणा) आणि वस्तुनिष्ठता (निरपेक्षता) उलगडण्याचा आमचा प्रयत्न आहे. यातून आम्ही आत्म-नियंत्रण (स्वत:वर ताबा) आणि सुसंवादी (एकत्रित) जीवन जगण्यासाठी एक सुसंगत (व्यवस्थित) मार्गदर्शन देत आहोत. #gita #shrikantsoman #sriaurobindo #srikrishna

Relevance of Gita in Today’s World and its practical benefits Instead of getting into some ‘exclusive’ club of philosophists, we are therefore more concerned here about what is useful to the present day humanity. We want to understand the actual living truth it contains. This truth is timeless and therefore valid even today. We want to leave aside the academic aspect in order to extract form Gita helpful wisdom for the present day humanity. We want to put the eternal wisdom of Gita in the most natural and vital form and expression. Our approach needs to be suitable to the mentality and spiritual needs of the present day ‘new age’ humanity. 

Noting the pitfalls of our approach 

In the process of making our discussion more practical and relevant for today’s times, we need to realise that there is a danger of ‘diluting’ the wisdom as contained in the original scripture. We are aware that our attempt to do this may mix a great deal of error arising from our own individuality. It will also be influenced by the ideas of the present time. But then anyway this type of susceptibility was also there in the case of greater men before us. It is bound to happen. Right Approach in Understanding of Gita Living in the Spirit of Gita In order to rightly understand and then to present the true essence of Gita without falling prey to the above pitfalls, we need to comply with two conditions.

Firstly, we should immerse ourselves in the spirit of this great Scripture. Secondly and most importantly, we should try to live in that spirit. This will help us to Find in the Scripture as much real truth as we are capable of receiving Benefit from the spiritual influence and actual help that personally we were destined to receive.
