In its August 22, 2025, judgment, the bench said academicians, lecturers, and professors are the intellectual backbone of any nation, as they dedicate their lives to shaping the minds and character of future generations.

The court pointed out that their work goes far beyond delivering lessons—it involves mentoring, guiding research, nurturing critical thinking, and instilling values that contribute to the progress of society.

By ensuring fair remuneration and dignified treatment, the bench said, “We affirm the importance of their role and reinforce the nation’s commitment to quality education, innovation, and a brighter future for its youth”.

According to him, equality in the Constitution means "unequal treatment of unequals so that they become equal".

Potholes, broken roads, bridges falling, stray dogs chasing, stinking garbage, gutka coloring, dirty trains, rampant bribing are all normalized in the name of nashunalism. We used to raise those issues once upon a time. Now silence.

If you ask these questions then you are a traitor or anti national or a congress supporter. Nowadays speaking up against the rights for oneself is also considered as anti national activity.

RSS has broadly modernist attitude towards nation and society, but its biggest failure in education and creation of self-sustaining system of ideas is a result of its attitude towards knowledge - traditionalism now increasingly fortified by postmodern tactics. I'll explain: The traditional attitude to knowledge treats it as a mostly inherited, not created, hence to be preserved and transmitted.

The novelty is only in new interpretation which further sanctifies recieved knowledge in new vocabulary and context. The goal of knowledge in traditional attitude is to orient people, to give them the right mode of socialisation, right container of thought.

The validation of knowledge is through authority, which can be anything ranging from sacred text to elders, to custom.

IKS, in its present form (exceptions aside) is similar. We can see that in the hand of supposed (not all) experts, it devolves into caste apologia, using Sanskrit words for providing the required Indic or Bharatiya ‘kitsch’, and has absolutely no ambitions or even pretense to be universally applicable or relevant. It is very much claim by ‘authority’ and is a bit like Soviet physics - great for show, but when you want to actually build a rocket that works, well, you need just physics.

The actually unique and extremely critical Indian rather Dharmic contributions in so-called theology, pluralism, harmony, synthesis or unity amongst diversity do not come across, and are under-emphasised. It has been reduced to just another gig - despite the best of intentions of at least some - which the taxpayer allocates a bit to in an almost expiatory sense :)

This is exactly the logic given by Bhishma and Vyasa in Shanti Parva to Yudhishthir - even if a Guru goes astray (does or supports adharma) and comes to fight in a battlefield, it is only worthwhile for a warrior to kill him.

Another imp myth needs busting - In Vyasa's Mahabharata & Valmiki Ramayana , there is no mention of Sri Ram or Yudhisthr doing any prayaschitta for 'Brahmahatya' for killing Ravana, Drona resp. That rule was for a brahmana leading a brahmana life, not one fighting like a ksatriya

@6amiji the problem why all this debate actually happened is just because the trads wanted to prove that Ravana was Brahmin because he was well versed in Vedas, if he isn't considered brahmin then the so called "birth based" "varna ashrama dharma" gets the contradiction.

This is the exact reason why trads would defend it till, their death by invoking injunctions from puranas to anything just to uphold the authority or so called sanctity of this casteist paradigm, sadly many of these IKS institutions are part of it.

Sadly out shankaracharyas to most of traditional mathas upheld birth based varna ashrama dharma logic and now IKS organisations which are related to them also are trying to repackage this caste system using decoloniality as a weapon of theirs.

American acting traditions, influenced by Method acting, often emphasize finding the character within yourself—playing "out of self." British traditions tend to celebrate transformation and bold expressive choices more openly...

Great acting always combines imagination and expressive ability working together in a theatrical context. Whether that expression is quiet and naturalistic or bold and stylized doesn't matter—what matters is that it serves the story and feels genuine within that specific theatrical world.
