Sri Aurobindo makes a distinction between life and heart; and mind and intellect. All the four are vital but have different functions as Asura can be construed as the secular.

3. The Sangh Parivar fuels a venomous mix of hate, divisive propaganda, and caste-driven division, fracturing Hindu society while hiding behind the facade of #PseudoHindutva. If a 100 years of existence proves an organisation's virtue, then the Congress, with its 140-year legacy, towers above in goodness and utility. Yet, the #Chaddis tirelessly smear Congress, spreading malicious falsehoods against its leaders. While Congress has been criminally indifferent to Hindu grievances through its pseudo-secular policies, the RSS-BJP poses as Hindu champions while stabbing Hindus in the back...
4. The #RamJanmabhoomi Temple saga stands as a stark betrayal of Hindu sentiments, shamelessly exploited by the RSS-BJP to seize political power, only to abandon the very community they claimed to champion. The Supreme Court deserves credit for its historic verdict on November 9, 2019. Yet, the RSS-BJP audaciously claims this triumph as their own doing. Their hypocrisy is laid bare—why, then, have they failed to secure favourable judicial outcomes for other Hindu causes, such as Sabarimala and countless others?
The Sangh Parivar brazenly collected over Rs. 3,200 crores officially—and potentially thousands of crores more unofficially—from devout Hindus in the name of the #RamJanmabhumi Mandir; only Bhagwan Ram would know the true fate of that heist. Far from a sacred endeavour, the #Chaddis have transformed this holy Ayodhya site into a ruthless money-spinning machine, preying on the gullible with unrelenting greed. Here is a chilling exposé of their duplicity: x.com/MNageswarRaoIP…

Letters | Swarati Sabhapandit’s “The Constitution as a Contested Terrain: Rights of Women in a Majoritarian State” (EPW, 2 August 2025) persuasively shows how women’s constitutional rights are refracted through the lens of dominant social institutions.

I've been thinking a lot about how we build our identity and how often we get stuck in outdated versions of ourselves. I ended up writing this blog post as a personal memo to remember these ideas. I'm sharing it in case….

For me, no novel provides a better account of what we humans are up against in our pursuit of the true and the good than Joseph Conrad’s Lord Jim (1900). It does this alongside Conrad’s other great works, Heart of Darkness (1899) and Nostromo (1904).
Lord Jim reveals that, even in our secular age, we remain creatures of ineluctable faith. Our sense of being good derives from this faith. But the kicker is that, perhaps inevitably, it is bad faith, because what we do for it – how we reaffirm our faith – is all too often not good.
"When you enter that ancient culture, you are really entering a different world. The task of philology shifts from trying to understand correctly the meaning of ancient texts to trying to understand the civilizations that produced those texts."

A century of scholarship has shown that the figure of the lone genius is largely mythical. Is Einstein the exception?
